Happy December everybody! I am so glad it’s finally here, and Jeff and I have been getting excited all year. Seriously, Jeff has had a monthly reminder on our group calendar that says “Start getting excited for Christmas!!” since July. We just love Christmas, and all the cheesey stuff that comes with it. It’s fun! And, while I know this is a controversial topic, I absolutely love Christmas music and I have been extremely excited to play my favorite playlists.
Black Friday Shopping
I hope everyone is having wonderful Thanksgiving. I am currently fireside with a glass of Prosecco, listening to Christmas music, perusing the best of Black Friday and contemplating what I can get for myself, and what I should check off my Christmas shopping list. And I thought I would share with you some of the ideas I’ve saved. Let me know what you ended up getting for yourself. Happy long sleepy weekend!

The Best New Vegan Handbag Line
I have been a fan of Nicole Kwon Concept Store since she opened the doors to her Dallas boutique seven years ago. Nicole Kwon is a designer herself, and she became a personal hero of mine when I found out she had worked at the storied fashion houses of Hussein Chalayan and Vivienne Westwood before turning to retail. Growing up in Korea and studying and working in London and New York, her store has always offered a refreshingly different perspective in market marked by conformity. That is why when Nicole told me she was designing her own bag of vegan sustainable handbags, I knew I had to share them with you.
25% Off At Net a Porter…My Picks!
Hurrah! Today the friends and family sale at Net-a-Porter has started, and there are some truly fabulous choices if you’re looking to take advantage of the hefty 25% discount. Helpful hint: everything marked “seasonal pick” on the site denotes an item that the discount applies to. I have had way too much coffee today and I used the extra energy to put together a list of thirty of my top shopping picks, along with some thoughts on what’s good right now.
The Cool Anime Bomber My Mom and I Bought on Instagram
Two weeks ago, my mom texted me a picture of this lime green puffy jacket covered in gothic anime drawings and said, “I ordered this!”. My jaw dropped I and texted back “WHERE??”. She said she had found it on Instagram and sent me the link. Within five minutes I ordered the same puffer, from a men’s website I had never heard of before. It got here two weeks later and my mom and I received our jackets at the same time. I wore it out today and got many compliments on it! How can you resist a lime green puffy jacket covered in anime and weird nonsensical text? At $116, I feel that you get a lot of bang for your buck with this puffer.
If you want to order this too, you can find it on Cyd Urban! I took a size medium for an oversize look.
4 Fall Outfit Formulas
Happy Friday everyone! I have been busying myself with rearranging my closet and styling some looks for the weeks ahead. Heading into fall, I want to have a blueprint of some looks that I love and can wear various reiterations of throughout the rest of the year. These outfit formulas inform the way that I shop and thrift, and generally make getting dressed in the morning much easier. I came up with four outfit formulas I want to wear over and over again right now. I can’t wait to do some styling with these outfit ideas in mind.

Fashion in Film: A Perfect Murder (1998)
There are so many 90’s Gwynnie movies that could be in Fashion in Film. One of my personal favorites: A Perfect Murder, a 1998 thriller directed by Andrew Davis starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Michael Douglas, and Viggo Mortensen. Gwyneth Paltrow is Michael Douglas’s pretty young wife, who is cheating on him with a vagabond artist (Viggo Mortensen). I won’t tell you more than that because it would reveal the plot, and this is actually a highly watchable movie so don’t just look at these screengrabs, rent it to see yourself at home! It is a lot of fun, even though the supposedly amazing art that Viggo Mortensen creates in this movie actually hurts my eyes. Michael Douglas is a lot of fun to watch in the role of a homicidal husband.
Building A Second Hand Capsule Wardrobe for Fall
This brutal summer has made me very enthusiastic about preparing for the colder months ahead, and I cannot wait to be wearing some of the cozy sweaters and wool trousers that have been languishing in my closet for months. Part of my preparation for the new season was to par down my wardrobe and part with some pieces that are no longer serving me. I thought this would be a great opportunity to talk about how to build up a mini-wardrobe to get you excited for fall…but do it by shopping all second hand! It has come to my attention that it is Secondhand September and as you know, that is the primary way I do my shopping. Lets break down a step by step process of shopping smart.
