TORNADO WATCH

Fashion
Jun 11, 2009155 Comments

Wearing vintage silk pants, sheer tank top, YSL cage booties, and Proenza Schouler sunglasses
So last night I was taking these pictures in my dad's front yard when he comes running out of the house telling me to get in the car and find shelter because a tornado was on its way towards us.
I think everyone who has lived in north Texas is used to tornado scares but this one came pretty close. Our houses and dogs were fine though. Waiting out storms is so boring-even more boring when they knock out your power for a long time.
I didn't get to take any pictures of the storm-bummer!
Shelley was a little traumatized by it all, poor baby.
Well, in other news….eye love my YSL cage heels.

–and that’s scary with the tornado! I live in Houston, and we don’t have them as much as farther north, but my next door neighbors shed was picked us and MOVED about 8 years ago–It’s was scary, and it’s still sitting in the new local-close to the back of the property. :)

It was a wild night! We had a tornado close by us too here in Carrollton. Knocked our power out for 15 hours. Didn’t really sleep at all with all the noise. Thank the Lord nothing was damaged at our home, but some of our poor neighbors had their fences knocked down, trees broken & roof damaged. The top of our street post light even blew off! Glad nothing happened to your home. It’s always a crazy spring in Texas, isn’t it? :)

I LOVE the pants with the YSL shoes. I’m afraid my taste in shoes rarely overlaps with yours, but the combination of those perfectly ankle-showcasing black pants with that wonderful permutation of the cage shoe has won me over. And your dog is too adorable!
On another note, I never cease to be amazed at how money seems to be no issue for you. Designer brands are great, but if you’re wearing Margiela at 16, what do you aspire to when you’re 30? Maybe tone down all the posts on the shopping trips and the latest shoes you want, which you will inevitably get when they come out. That’s just my opinion.

Gorgeous pants! I love the hem length on you, thinking of trying my hand at making a pair soon.
I’ve had similar experiences with tornados in Iowa…half the time if I’m home alone I don’t bother to turn on the radio and only find out after the fact that a twister had touched down. Oops!
