This Ganni skirt instantly appealed to me when I saw it. With the hot summer weather we are having, it is so nice to have a cute and easy piece like this that you can throw a cami (mine is ASOS) over and walk out the door. The polka dot and ruffle details make this so sweet, and the fabric has substantial heft so it hangs beautifully when worn. Living in Texas is a weird thing during the summer because when its 100 degrees outside, people blast their ACs to keep the temps sub 60 inside. Hence the blazer over the shoulders. It’s been a wild ride this month for me dealing with some health problems, as you might know but probably don’t because I don’t talk about it much. I have previously thought what I was dealing with endometriosis but it seems some of the associated symptoms have bubbled up and taken on a life of their own. It’s really crazy to think your body can attack itself so viciously. I’ve been trying to rest and don’t have much occasion or energy to dress up right now, but this skirt really cheered me up. I hate to cop to the true benefits of retail therapy at risk of sounding shallow, but I think we all know it is a little bit true. Mindless distraction (ie: window shopping, summer reads and Netflix) have been my savior when I’m feeling a bit hopeless or in a lot of pain. I might try to get out tonight and get dinner at my favorite restaurant with my fiancee this evening, I know I’ll feel a lot more like my old self when I put on this skirt and maybe a rock tee and pair of favorite clogs. It really is focusing on the small things that help you keep it together when you’re feeling overwhelmed…like cute clogs and a delicious plate of pasta.
Wearing a Ganni skirt with an ASOS ribbed cami, vintage admiral’s hat, a straw handbag given to me by a friend, a The Row blazer, and Giuseppe Zanotti ankle boots that I’ve had for a bazillion years.

The Retail therapy is fine , as I sit here typing this waiting to see my therapist. If shopping a bit helps you cope , you could be doing a lot worse. Hoping everything is ok . Polka dots are always cheerful.

I’m so sorry that you have been ill. I’ve been reading your blog for ten years and have absolutely loved the content you provide. Thank you! I realize that I know very little about your illness, but my partner was able to recover from chronic fatigue and digestive issues after seeing a functional medicine doctor. It’s an option that I would have never considered before, but we found it beneficial.

I have two types of auto immune diseases and know how it really affects your life! I’ve been on a plant based diet since December felt so much better now! I hope you would give it a go, as I heard dairy had caused endometriosis. I just thought I would comment since I followed your blog from way back and felt I know you.

Thank you, Sisi. It means a lot. Coffee tends to trigger it for me lately.
