This skirt is an extremely special piece I bought recently by designer Catherine Buckley. Catherine Buckley is best known for designing Joanna Lumley’s costumes in the New Avengers in 1976, but she also made stunning Belle Epoque inspired clothes that often were made of delicate antique jacquard lace fabrics. This skirt is one of those pieces-it’s tag notes that the skirt is very delicate and made of lace fabrics dating from 1900’s-1920’s. Needless to say I feel like a very lucky girl to have snagged this incredibly unique skirt by such an innovative designer. I rarely wear clothing older than the 1940’s. It just feels too precious for me to wear out in the world, but I will make an exception for this skirt. I am also wearing a 1920s piano shawl here, so I am double-breaking my rule!

I am wearing a Catherine Buckley skirt with a 1970s Chessa David blouse, a 1920s piano shawl, and Dorateymur patent pink mod boots.
