Fashion
Dec 8, 200859 Comments

I know I'm not alone when I say that one of the first things I do in the morning is check my favorite streetstyle blogs. Garance Dore, The Sartorialist, Jak & Jil, AltamiraNYC, etc…I live for their updates!

But lately a new style blog I've discovered via Luluandyourmom has become my #1 destination for style inspiration. It's the only site where I can find girls using teddy bears as outfit acessories, boys wearing orange fur trimmed jeans, and the only streetstyle site where the word 'chic' is rarely appicable (and that is a good thing!!)

I imagine this guy's vintage Levi's overalls did not come cheap-authentic vintage Levi's fetch extremely high prices in Japan-great color scheme here and those overalls are amazing. The girl works for a magazine-check out her itty bitty tuxedo blazer, sequin bowtie, pointy patent boots, suspenders, and pigtails. Lesson learned, it's all in the details.

Lucky girl!! She has a tutu from Comme des Garcons Fall 2007 and the spiked Junya Watanabe boots from Fall 2006…!

^HILARIOUS, this chick on the right must be so down..this could just be a passing fad but this girl has inspired me and I am desperately seeking a 'cleavage shirt' for myself. Here is a dream outfit I have in my mind right now: Leather Martin Margiela blazer, an awesome cleavage shirt similar to this girl's, skinny black denim, basket weave Givenchy wedges.

Look at all these kids-they're constructing their own personal universes out of clothing!

this is one of my favorite blogs. everything is more than fashion, it’s art and craziness. it’s not about what maybe looks flattering, these people are so wildly creative and everything about them is so inspiring.

The guy from the last photo, the one holdin’ uu the peace sign is sooo cool… I wonder if he’s single? Haha! Japan had always been the trendiest fashion spot in Asia. It’s the ground-zero of fashion on that side of the planet. Very cool people and very artistic too… I love Japan. Wanna go back there someday.

Ooh, nice site! Thanks for linking it. :) Another Japanese site that I usually go to is Style Arena JP (http://www.style-arena.jp/). It’s a bit like FRUiTS when it comes to how they photograph people and they organize the photos depending on the location (Harajuku, Shibuya, Daikanyama, Ginza, Omotesando).

Omg! I love this stuff so hard!
I don’t mean to be a hater, but I definitely know what you mean about “the only streetstyle site where the word ‘chic’ is rarely appicable (and that is a good thing!!)” Sometimes I think I’m the only one who doesn’t really care about the Sartorialist AT ALL. One time in twenty he’ll have something I’m interested in, but mostly everybody there is too plain/clean for me.
I can’t say how big of an inspiration you are to me… thanks so much for sharing with us!

ha! I used to have one of those 90s (at least that’s when I remember seeing them a lot) beach “cover ups” that had the drawing of a lady on it in a swimsuit. not quite the cleavage shirt, but it does trick the eye.

right i totally think tutu’s are an upcoming trend, but not the hideous ones that people wear to ‘electro’ nights out in clubs in the u.k. but instead really big ones with loads of volume! I’ve just posted my favourite finds on etsy and one is an adult size tutu! I love em!

We like reviewing Harajuku street fashion photos. We do it almost daily. The street photos give us an idea on what people are putting on in their everyday life, and everybody knows Harajuku styles are followed by many people in Asia and around the world. There are gaps between street and runway fashion, and between Asian and Western tastes. Those street fashion photos are making our reference when we are stocking for our clothes inventory.
