Happy Monday! The week is already getting off to a busy start but I could not help but start my morning with a little online window shopping. I’ve been craving a plaid pencil mini and this one from Topshop does the trick perfectly. I can totally see wearing this with a camel toggle coat and penny loafers. Mission plaid mini accomplished!
An Easy Tank Dress
The weather here the last few weeks has been totally bonkers, it feels like we experience all the seasons in a span of two days. It keeps yo-yoing from clear skies and 70 degrees to rain and freezing cold. This outfit kind of sums up how I’m keeping up with it. Always keep a warm jacket just in case it decides the temperature decides to take a dip while you are out, and definitely don’t count on your hairstyle lasting in case of sudden showers.
I got this dress from Free People two months ago, and it was so comfy I bought it in another color when it went on sale. Sadly it is sold out now but this one from Revolve is very similar. The coat is something I’ve had for years, it is by Alice and Olivia. The amazing mesh booties are by Jerome C. Rousseau!
So glad to be winding down a hectic week. Believe it or not, Jeff and I still have some unpacking to do, but my goal is to show you all our new home soon! We’ve been really loving it here so far. I hope you all have some relaxing weekend plans. I’m pretty wiped out from a long week and I’m looking forward to staying in to watch West World!
Even More Laura Ashley
I’m still in the thralls of my Laura Ashley obsession! This velvet beauty was going off on eBay for a good price so I snagged it, and I m so glad I did because its even more beautiful in person. I love the princess cut waistline and buttoned puff sleeves. The petticoat I am wearing underneath is also Laura Ashley (when I commit to something, I commit all the way).

Blue Suede Shoes
I am so ready for spring already! We have been getting a few teasing days where it gets above 60 here lately. I am so obsessed by the color of these Stuart Weitzman boots, it’s the perfect powder blue for spring. I start to sing “Blue Suede Shoes” in my head every time I put them on. They’re perfect with a flowy white dress and a classic trench on a windy day.

Disco Fever
This dress is super special to me. It comes from one of my favorite instashops in Sweden, Re-Edited Vintage. I’m so glad it is mine! The print is totally bizarre and disco inspired. It seems like it came off the pages of a 70s Hans Feurer shoot in Vogue Paris. Pieces like these remind me of how truly happy fashion and vintage make me. At least the clothes you love can still be a bright spot on a dark day.
These shoes I’ve had for so many years, and I love them to death. They are by Yves Saint Laurent (far pre-dating the abbreviated Saint Laurent name change) and have since been reproduced by the brand in a number of different variations. I still think they’re fabulous and often I wonder if I should try to get another pair. This pair on Nordstrom right now is my favorite. Outrageous, definitely, but who says that is a bad thing? Sometimes fashion has to be fun!
Black, White and Red
Sometimes the grind of a busy work week can really make it hard to find inspiration and get excited about fashion. That’s always something I struggle with when life gets too chaotic. Sometimes the best thing I can do is get my makeup on, put on a dress that makes me really happy, and go out for happy hour drink with Jeff! This dress inspires me because it was such a rare find…definitely what the magic of vintage is all about for me. My mom found this Mollie Parnis dress at a thrift store here in town. She gave it to me, which I am so thankful for! I love this dress, it’s one of the most glamorous pieces in my wardrobe.
Wearing vintage Mollie Parnis dress with a velvet waist belt and Rupert Sanderson shoes available here. My lipstick is Gerard Cosmetics liquid lipstick in Immortal, a shade and formula I love lately! And for those who have asked about my hairstyles lately, I have been doing them with Conair hot sticks. I own two sets and set my whole head with them for these vintage curls.
Manic Monday
Getting back to work this cold January morning, and craving some menswear inspired tailoring. I have not been wearings trousers very often this winter but the fit on these Brandon Maxwell cigarette pants is pretty amazing. I could go for a pair of these!
LAURA ASHLEY OBSESSION
I’m going through a pretty intense phase right now with Laura Ashley. I’ve had a few pieces over the last few years that I’ve loved to pieces, it has inspired me to do a total Laura Ashley immersion. I bought 10 or so pieces very cheaply and I’m really excited about them all. It’s all I’ve been wearing the past few days! This Laura Ashely dress is my favorite so far. The print of it is so spectacular in person and it’s even cooler because the fabric is a really fine needlecord. I love this dress with a dramatic 70s coat and preppy knee high boots, but it’s also great worn with a fair isle knit sweater belted over it. Watch this space, I am going to be shooting a lot more of my vintage Laura Ashley in the next few weeks!
Just for a throwback…here is another post in which I wore Laura Ashley last year (the second dress in the series). Vintage is so fun!
