Lace & Pinstripes

FashionOutfits
Jan 8, 201820 Comments

I have been in the mood for some softer looks lately. When I was in Tokyo for our honeymoon I saw some women wearing really cool deconstructed Victorian inspired looks in Harajuku and I’ve been thinking about them ever since. Lace and bows are very fun to wear but a little can go a long way. No one wants to end up looking too prissy! I chose to pair this pinstriped lace-trim blouse with a pair of wide leg 80s menswear inspired pants to make the look more modern.

I know I am going to get a lot of questions about these shoes, I always do when I post them. They are Christian Dior ‘Conquest’ pumps from last year and I think that they are still available for purchase from their boutiques (last I had heard). But there are a few new pairs on theRealReal for less, if you are lucky enough to find your size!

I love this feminine look and leave it to the stylish Japanese ladies to inspire it. The shoes are fabulous and I love the way the colors has a bit of pop and really makes the outfit. You always look stunning and this is darling.

That’s really interesting that you mention Victorian looks from Harajuku – that place used to be the epicenter of (Gothic)Lolita Fashion, but I think a lot of the teen girls who used to wear that stuff in the late 90’s and early 2000’s have settled into a more demure and casual interpretation – I’d love to see what some of these women are wearing now, having been a Lolita enthusiast myself only a handful of years ago!

Your looks are always so inspiring and fun, but your makeup game has been super on point lately! Are you using false lashes – they look amazing!!
