Rugby Forever

Rugby Forever

I have had this Rugby Ralph Lauren jacket for over ten years…it always reminds me of the early days of Sea of Shoes. I wore it over the weekend and it reminded me how much I love my old Rugby. I so wish Rugby was still around, they did so much great stuff! Long term readers will know how obsessed I am. I have started buying a lot of Rugby from eBay over the last few years to fill the Rugby void in my life. I love a kooky prep look, I always have fun styling with it. This look I’m wearing here definitely fits that vibe.

Wearing Ruby Ralph Lauren jacket with vintage silk shirt, Express grey skinny jeans, Balenciaga city bag, and Nine West snap button ankle boots.

I also had someone ask about the makeup look I am wearing here, which I will tell you. I am wearing the Charlotte Tilbury Rock Chick palette on my eyes, ItCosmetics CC cream mixed with Etude House Cotton Fit BB cream, Milani blush in Luminoso, and Hourglass Nude Lip Stylo in No1.

My Engagement Ring

My Engagement Ring

I’ve had so many questions about my ring since we got engaged and I’m finally doing a ring post. I love my ring, and it is something that makes me very happy to talk about. We were really lucky to find exactly what we were looking for. I knew when we started talking about getting married that the ring would have to be something that felt true to my style and was very unique. Finding the perfect one was a bit of a journey.

Monochrome Uniform

Monochrome Uniform

I’ve had a pair of Frye’s Sacha boots that I’ve worn to death over the last few years. They are extremely comfortable, they look cute with everything, and the western style is irresistible to this Texan. My fiancee loves when I wear them, funnily enough. They’re my go-to shoe when I’m traveling and they’re the perfect “jeans and tee” boots. Mine have taken a lot of abuse and look better the more worn in they get. I decided that another pair would be a really good shoe purchase for years to come.

I ordered the Frye Shane boots (a slight variation of the Sacha) in a western embroidered style. I could not wait for them to arrive. They did not disappoint! In fact I wore them for five days straight after they got here. The leather is amazing. I got so many compliments on them when I wore them out. I am so glad to have a different version of one of my most beloved boots.

My sweater is by Cinq a Sept but it is not available anywhere online yet, I will post a link when it becomes available! These jeans I’m wearing are from Express. The belt is a Polo Ralph Lauren belt but Frye has a really good similar one here!

Below are some of my picks for sweaters this fall. I have been traveling the last two weeks and I remembered how wonderfully cozy sweaters are. I am so excited for autumn clothes!!

Cable Knits and Boyfriend Jeans

Cable Knits and Boyfriend Jeans

I cannot tell you much I am enjoying the cooler mornings we are having! I feel like I’ve run out of cute outfit ideas for 98 degree weather. I’m so over my sundresses at this point. I leaped at the opportunity to wear my first sweater in months.

These jeans I’m wearing are one of my favorite denim purchases of all time. They are Chimala and I bought mine from Madewell about five years ago. I really want to buy another pair but they are an investment! I also really love Moussy denim, another Japanese brand that does 100% cotton jeans in really good shapes and vintage washes. They have a couple of pairs I am thinking about as an alternative. So much quality denim out there right now, it makes me happy after so many years of stretchy skinnies.

MY SK-II TRANSFORMATION

MY SK-II TRANSFORMATION

My skin regimen has never been more important to me than it is right at this moment. It is crazy how much your body can change, and my skin has become quite problematic as I’ve gotten older. I curse myself for not appreciating blemish-less skin when I had it. I unfortunately have the adult acne gene, and it has been a tremendously difficult to get it under control. Over the last few months my skin has been subjected to some incredibly harsh treatments and medications that have left it parched and flaky. They were worth it to beat the acne, but what my skin needs right now is some serious TLC.

When SK-II approached me to try their cult-favorite SKII Facial Treatment Essence, I was thrilled because I’ve heard so many rave reviews of this product from makeup artists and friends. I’ve been using it for a month and the difference is quite astounding. My skin no longer feels taut and flaky. I see a glow within my skin that had been gone for so many months. I started to feel like myself again. I attribute the fading of some of my blemish marks and sun spots to Facial Treatment Essence. It really has helped me get my confidence back after having a bout of really bad skin. Having struggled with problematic skin over the last few years, I really wanted to get to a point where I felt happy with my face before our wedding day. To feel my best on the day I’m going to remember forever is so important to me. The magic of the Facial Treatment Essence has brought a light back to my face that has been completely gone for so many months. Even my dermatologist asked what I was using at home! I can see a huge difference myself in the photos we take every day for this blog.

If you haven’t used an essence before, youn might be wondering how to incorporate it into your routine. I use the Facial Treatment Essence after cleansing and patting my face dry. I pour a few splashes of the essence into my palms or cotton pad and pat it gently all over my face and neck. It might surprise you at first that the essence feels just like water. It absorbs quickly into the skin and you’ll feel the difference instantly. If you are looking for a miracle product to add into your skin regimen, I highly recommend this essence. It’s a cult favorite for a reason, the Facial Treatment Essence lives up to its hype. I am definitely going to continue using it as I believe it is the secret ticket to get my skin ready for our wedding day!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of SK-II. The opinions and text are all mine.

Lucky Buy Cropped Cords

Lucky Buy Cropped Cords

I’ve been on the hunt for some new cropped flares for a while but I just couldn’t find any that were exactly what I wanted. I was looking around Urban Outfitters one day and saw these cropped corduroy flares and thought I’d try them on to see what the fit was like. It was perfect! I was so pleased, they were on the cheaper end of others I had been looking at for sure. So glad I snapped up a pair. The cropped length is really good for showing off cute shoes, like these boots. I’m sure these boots are familiar to long time readers. They are my beloved Rochas boots I got four (?) years ago and I wear them to death. The kind of shoe I wish I could have bought two of at the time, because eventually they will be worn to shreds and I will be devastated.

Wearing a vintage Culture Club tee with vintage 90s Ungaro cashmere herringbone blazer, cropped corduroy pants from Urban Outfitters, Simon Miller bag, and Rochas boots from several years ago.

Technicolor Dream Boucle Jacket

Technicolor Dream Boucle Jacket

An outfit made up of mostly things I’ve had for a long time…except for this amazing Chanel-inspired rainbow boucle jacket I picked up at Vintage Martini recently. It’s so much fun, I’ve been dying to wear it. A lot of color going on with this look I’m wearing and I’m okay with it…with a jacket this fun, you have to go a bit wild!

Wearing vintage Levi’s cut-offs with an Al Jarreau tour shirt, vintage boucle jacket, Aquazzura heels, and Dolce & Gabbana bag.

The Love at First Sight Boots

The Love at First Sight Boots

I knew I had to have these velvet Tibi boots when I first saw them a few months back. Crushed velvet acid orange kitten heel boots? Sounds right up my alley. I ordered them as soon as they became available and they were everything I hoped they would be. I own so many weird 70s and 80s kooky granny dresses and these boots are the perfect juxtaposition for styling them. I also love these with cropped frayed flare jeans and rock tees with an oversized blazer. I threw them on with some dangly earrings and an old favorite vintage dress for some wedding meetings on Monday.

I could not love them more. I haven’t been finding many shoes I go bananas for lately, so to feel so fulfilled by a shoe purchase makes me quite happy as devoted shoe lover. A boot like this is so unusual that it can’t go out of style. I am now wanting the gorgeous dark teal version of these boots too! A girl can dream. Definitely my pick for “shoe of the season”!

Wearing Tibi Harper velvet boots with a vintage Kay Unger dress with a vintage hand painted belt, chandelier earrings (similar here), and Simon Miller bag.
