OVERSIZED

Fashion
Nov 21, 2011

I love a sweater the size of a house…I want to move into this 90s Zoran turtleneck.
These crocodile print embossed waxed jeans arrived two days ago from Rich & Skinny–thank you so much Samantha! I am in love with them!
These patent bondage wedges are Givenchy from a few years ago…a lucky find on Yoox. They feel like boulders on my feet, at least I'm super anchored to the ground so there is less of a chance that  will fall on my face.

We have had such sad weather this week. It is grey and dreery and the last of the leaves are falling. I wish I could get under a blanket and put on The Thin Man.

TEAL ARMOR

Fashion
Nov 20, 2011

This vintage dirndl corset from Feathers Boutique in Austin is absolutely one of my favorite things I own. I've been wearing it over everything lately!! I like it's weight and heft, it feels good to be wearing something like armor. I wish I could find more pieces like it but I'm afraid it is one of those gems I'll only get to find once in a  lifetime. I'm wearing it over t-shirt dresses that Herff Christiansen sent me. I wear these dresses all the time, they are great to layer up. All the simplicity and functionality of a men's undershirt in a dress.

Worn with tights c/o of Hue, a 50's fox stole, and vintage silver and turquoise

The mola mola choker is from our new holiday jewelry collection, which will be available at Atlantis Dry Goods on Thanksgiving evening! I'll tweet it's arrival and hope to post more of the jewelry soon.

COLLAGE ADDICT

Megainspiration

I finally got around to fixing my printer a while back and my new obsession is making collages and printing them out so I can have hard copies of stuff I want to remember and reference later. Above is a collage of the collages, if that makes sense. They're super fun to make!

TUXEDO SHIRT OBSESSION

Fashion
Nov 17, 2011

I'm officially starting a tuxedo shirt collection. It all started when my mom picked up a red and white one on our roadtrip to Austin a few weeks back. It has an uncanny ability to look cute with just about anything you wear it with. We got inspired to buy more since they seemed to make styling outfits so easy. This one came in the mail yesterday. I like it with my turqoise brooch, even though it makes me look like an extra from the TV show Dallas.

I wish I'd gotten a close up picture of my belt, because it has skunks on it. Red and white skunks…how whimsical and bizarre.

Worn with my new Rich & Skinny Legacy jeans in black…my mom has the same pair and I got jealous of hers because they are so cute, so I got a pair for myself.

Worn with Givenchy lace-up heels from spring 2007? I can't remember. Loved the shoes from this colletion!

ELECTRIC LEOPARD

ELECTRIC LEOPARD

It's been a while since I've gotten this leopard Junya Watanabe dress out…I bought it about three years ago and usually I wear it as a top, but it can go both ways! I like it with all of my turqoise and silver.

Variations on a Uniform

Hello from New York! I made it in last night despite a five hour delay and a horrible cold. I'm here for something exciting but at the moment it just feels very, very intimidating. I'm trying to soothe my nerves in my hotel room by window shopping. I think it's helping.

1. Carven gargoyle intarsia sweater
2. A. l. c. Rugby Vented Sweater
3. Proenza Schouler chunky knit sweater
4. Yohji Yamamoto fair isle sweater

5. Balmain striped jeans
6. Siwy rose jeans in Escapade
7. Isabel Marant leather trimmed patchwork skinny jeans
8.  Rich & Skinny legacy jeans in Red (I'm wearing these now! So cute)
9. Work Custom Faux Leather Pants
10. Superfine Leather Paneled jeans

11. Fly London paneled suede mid-rise boot (I'm really into sexy robot girl shoes right now)
12. Yves Saint Laurent cap-toe pump
13. Giuseppe Zanotti Studded criss-cross heel
14. Isabel Marant tiger print suede pump
15. Jimmy Choo cap-toe leopard pump

DOG DAYS

Fashion
Nov 9, 2011

These pictures make me laugh so much. My mom and I thought our 13 year old corgi Townsend would enjoy a quick walk, and normally, he does! This time proved to be too much for him…he was overcome with emotion and spent the whole time trying to climb in my lap. We took him home and turned around to go to try to take some more photos, but stopped to get two lost puppies out of the road. I practically rolled out of the car trying to get out of it before it stopped. Luckily the puppies had tags and it was easy to get them back to their home. A very doggy series of events.

Wearing a vintage Emanuel Ungaro blouse scored at a thriftstore, vintage hat, metallic wax jeans by Rich &  Skinny (never thought I'd try a pair of jeans with that name, but I'm obsessed with them, cutest fit ever..love these too), and Laurence Dacade boots.

Beautiful Braids at Valentino

BeautyFashionHair
Nov 8, 2011

How pretty is the hair at Valentino's spring 2012 show? It's so pretty how they circle around the entire head so that you can't tell where they begin or end. Much nicer than when I've tried to milkmaid braids on my own hair!

Judging from the photo, the effect seems to be achieved by french braiding a circular chunk at the crown of your head, and a section starting above your right ear. This must require a lot of dexterity.
