Two is better than one!

Things that come in pairs are twice as nice!

The above picture features is a pair of our pairs of platform Marni wedges. The chunky, irregular sillouhette is so futuristic, but completely wearable. Every variation shown on the runway was highly desirable. My mom and I both ended up getting a pair of these! Barneys is going to be getting this same shoe in a dove gray and pale yellow color combination. I should add that contrary to appearances these shoes are extremely comfortable to walk in! I like to wear them with more classic pieces, futuristic architecture looks great dressed down. I tried mine with a viscose-blend dress from the Row and Ralph Lauren jodphurs.

Shoes aren’t the only great thing to be had in pairs:

I love the symmetry that they create. Our fireplace is flanked by a pair of wooden gryphens and on the mantle is a pair of Ganesh figures. The wooden dogs in the lower corner were picked up at the Fair Park flea market here in Dallas, aren’t they handsome?? They are most likely from Guatemala or Mexico.

Real dogs are best in pairs too. Above picture are Staci and Toulouse, helping me with a sewing project

The pair of little men attached to my purse are voodoo doll keychains I bought in Mexico, I liked the fortune teller/hippie vibe they had when paired with my tie dye bag. Haven’t tested them out yet, though….

Till next time,
Jane

Those shoes are just gorgeous, marni shoes really are the best! And I love that dress from the row, as I have told you before on TFS!
I have to ask, are your bags as fabulous as your shoes!?

These are so fantastic! I’m inspired to get a similar pair (as am inspired by virtually everything posted here) and was wondering if you found them running true to size?
Excellent blog, keep up the good work!

    :D thanks guys!
Jackie, yes I’m a nine and these shoes fit perfectly! The elastic in the back makes sizing easy, I tried on my mom’s tens and they didn’t feel that big because of the strap! What pair are you thinking about? Every pair was to die for, it’s hard to choose!!
Haha thanks Amy! I have to say I’m a simpleton in the bag department…I carry my tie dye Miu Miu half the time, but right now I’m stuck on vintage snakeskin clutches!
(though I am seriousely lusting after a Dries bag….they’re so practical!!!)

Thanks for the quick response! I’m thinking of the pair more akin to the ones in the top left hand corner of your November 6 post in a lighter color. I’m stuck in Providence RI for school and debating whether I should wait until I go home to see the shoes in person, or if I should just call and harass the people at Barney’s/the Marni store to send me a pair. Since sizing isn’t an issue, I may just have to buy myself a hefty post midterm present!

I have been absolutely in love with those Marni’s since spying them on the runway, and seeing them on you brings it to another level! I love your blog, and I hope you don’t mind I made a mention of it on my own blog. You can check it out here if you like: unefilleelegante.blogspot.com. Keep up your blog- I love reading it!

These are some of my favorite shoes of the season, in addition to those at Chloe. I’ve been thinking that Marni and Chloe’s shoes must be designed by the same person, they both have a relentlessly modern, edgy aesthetic right now.
