SUNDRESS FOR SUMMER

I’m obsessing over the adorable shoulder bows on this MSGM dress! It is getting hot and muggy here in Texas…this is just the thing I need to brave the sticky summers here. So cute and comfy.

Wearing MSGM dress (selling out but available in white here) with Allison Mitchell ponyhair clutch and Katharine Page sandals.

We’ve had two dreary weeks of non-stop rain. I love spring storms but after ten days of clouds, you can start to feel a little down in the dumps. When I woke up on Monday to yet another gloomy forecast, I decided to a) put on something other than a grungy old sweater and b) get out of the house and do something fun that would brighten my mood!

One of my favorite rainy day hideaways is the cafe at Village Baking Co. My boyfriend and I are pastry fanatics, and we love to bake at home ourselves. The sweets at this bakery always inspire us. I packed up a notebook and some magazines and a purse filled with colorful EOS lip balms. They smell so good and I always have at least one in my bag to smooth my chronically-chapped lips. My favorite is the swirled pink balm is Coconut Milk flavored lip balm. I am obsessed with anything coconut flavored! They look as cute as the cream puff I got that afternoon, I love the picture of them together

Thank you EOS for partnering with me on this post! We had the best rainy day and the lip balms were the perfect finishing touch.

I picked out some timeless essentials for a perfect spring wardrobe. You guys know I like to jazz it up with vintage, but I’d be lost without perfect foundation pieces like these. I am always on the lookout for that perfect crossbody bag that isn’t too flashy and goes with everything. Same for the perfect fitting tee. Hope you are having some glorious spring weather to wear these pieces wherever you are!

I have a kitschy appreciation of gingham. In small doses, it can be so good. This blouse I found on Urban Outfitters is a great example. Perfect with some canvas sailor pants and chunky heels!

Wearing a Capulet off-shoulder gingham top with Jesse Kamm sailor pants and Margiela ankle strap heels. Similar picnic bag here!

This is a repeat outfit, as in I’ve worn this entire look a couple of different times in previous months. I just obsess over this plaid jumpsuit! It was a super cheap eBay find and it is by an 80s designer I love. I love it all the more for being such a steal. I own a lot of 80s jumpsuits but I think this stands out as my favorite.

I have been coveting a piece from Caroline Constas for a long time now, so I knew I had to have this dress when it popped up on Net-a-Porter. It’s very exciting to see so many designers working with poplin right now. A summer dress made with fine shirting fabric feels so right for this summer! I’m already getting my wear out of this.

Right now is the perfect time of the year to be outdoors in a sundress and sandals. In Texas, that is such a narrow window of opportunity! Recently we were in Austin for SXSW, and I saw so many cute girls wearing Teva sandals at concerts with cool vintage dresses and boyfriend jeans. Those cool girls inspired this outfit I put together with the Universal slides Teva sent me. My weekend plans include picnicing and catching an outdoor symphony…this will be my repeat outfit for the occasion. I picked up this studded jacket during SXSW at my friend’s vintage store. So good with an old favorite dress and these shoes!

Wearing Teva’s white Universal slides with an Isabel Marant sundress, Ralph Lauren bag, and vintage jewelry and jacket.
