Flipping through some of my favorite editorials, I was inspired to do a playful take on menswear…I managed to work a lot of dots into this outfit!!

Wearing a 90's Zoran jacket, a 70's men's polka dot shirt, my dad's tie, Rag & Bone for Intermix jeans, and the adorable Day Dreamer loafers that Joie was kind enough to give me.

The earrings are vintage Kenneth Jay Lane clip-ons. I still don't have my ears pierced, though I am thinking about it. Several girlfriends have offered to do it for me Parent Trap style. Frightening, frightening thought….

A BIG SURPRISE

I came home to a very touching gift when I got back to Texas. My sweet mom had surprised me with a dazzling revamp on my half-lived in apartment. I always say it, but I have the best mom ever. I couldn't hold back my tears, it was a pretty special moment.

I remember the last time she surprised me like this…she redid my bedroom in our old house while I was at a conference in Italy. My mom has never been very good at keeping secrets. She tweeted right before I arrived "I surprised Jane with a makeover on her room!" I had wifi on that flight. Haha! Well, you really got me this time. I'm beyond lucky to have a mom with impeccable taste who loves to surprise her family! Here is my old room in Rue Magazine…I sure do miss it :)

I'm on the go a lot, and my place looked pretty much the same as it did the first week I moved in six months ago. I had this extra room that was supposed to be an entertaining room/guest room, but it became a scary hiding place for things I didn't want my guests to see. Unpacked bags, unused rugs, unhung paintings….yikes. Now it's my favorite part of my place! This is just a sneak preview, I will definitely shoot more of my place very soon. Stay tuned!

Psst…I have to share these shoes with you. These are my new Prada brogues that came while I was away in Brazi last week. They are my new favorite thing ever. I've become a big flats person over the last few months. Can't wait to wear these with cuffed up skinnies and a tweed blazer!

TOURING BRAZIL

I got back from Brazil on Sunday morning, I have been so excited to share it with you! We were so lucky to be given such an incredible tour from the Schutz team. Everyone I met in Brazil was so fun and easy going! Can I move to Rio?? We spent our first two days in Sao Paulo, where we met many Brazilian bloggers and enjoyed the Schutz collection launch.

I was SO EXCITED to get to Rio, because I've really never been in the ocean. We arrived late at night, so when I opened my curtains in my hotel room the next day, I screamed when I saw the ocean. It is so much more beautiful than any picture.

Above, I am wearing an irridescent shirt that Cris Barros kindly gave me after we did a photoshoot for Elle Brazil in their store. So sweet! Worn with a Zara blazer, shorts from Coii, a Madewell belt, and Schutz shoes! I am obsessed with see-through shoes now…

This is the pool at the Fasano hotel in Rio. It overlooks the ocean!

Schutz gave us the opportunity to design three shoes when we visited their factories. I can't wait to see them in person! Here is the sketch the designer I teamed up with did for a leopard motorcycle boot.

Hello from Brazil!

I am here in Rio de Janeiro with Aimee and Shea (poor Kelly couldn't stay for the whole trip). We were invited here by Schutz and we are so thankful for the amazing time they've shown us! I can't wait to show you more of the shoes I got. It's been non-stop since I've been here, I'll be back with much more to tell you soon! Consider this a very small preview!

The sequin jacket I'm wearing was so given to me by the Brazilian label Skinbiquini…I have been wearing it constantly. The detail on the sleeves might be the best part! Thank you Skinbiquini!
