LIFEGRAM

LIFEGRAM

Found the dress of my dreams by Red Valentino…heartbreaker, huh? It's probably gone now, get over it Jane!! Here is the same dress in black.

I've been shooting an exciting project for Jimmy Choo….kind of drooling on all of the samples they sent over. These leopard pumps might be a must.

Another  pair of Jimmy Choo beauties I had the pleasure of shooting–ballet flats with pom poms!

I ordered this princessy lingerie from Topshop! I combined this bra and panty set with these suspenders.

I saw these Tom Ford pumps with a padlock & key at Neimans the other day. That kinky Tom Ford!! Lots of girls are going crazy for them though…haha!

Melanie in her Martha Stewart dog collection jacket. Awwww. She gets so cold on our walks! I'm going to go nuts buying her clothes….god help me.

These ridiculously gorgeous boots are by Anine Bing. Absolutely my new favorite thing.

A beautiful view in Virginia last week.

A rainy day outfit in Charlottesville, wearing my well-loved Chloe boots, Zara pants, thrifted sweatshirt, and Style Nanda jacket!

My sister got these TOMS velvet skull embroidered slippers from Neimans last summer. So cute!! Definitely hope they do them again!

My mom and I both tried on the Current/Elliot camo zip jeans! She got them, I should have too!

Till next time! P.S. try the Skinny Pop popcorn at Whole Foods, it's way more delicious than regular popcorn.

INTRODUCING MELANIE!

INTRODUCING MELANIE!

If you've been following me on Instagram for the past 12 hours, you may have heard the story of sweet Melanie. My mom's neighbor found this little dog lost in the nearby park. Poor Melanie is in bad shape, and I have a strong suspicion she got dumped at the park, as many dogs do when their owners realize the cost of spaying and medication. She's in heat, had fleas and tapeworms, and her little body is just covered in scabs. I can't imagine what she has been through in the past 48 hours. She went to sleep in the closet as soon as she got here. She acts like she has never been inside the house before, but she's warmed up to the domestic life very quickly! Melanie cuddled up next to me like a baby last night, and she's plastered to my side now as I type this.

I have been preparing to welcome a dog into my life, but I hadn't found the dog just yet. Circumstances in my life have changed so that I can be a full time dog mom and I've been so excited! I've been on Petfinder for months now, but it looks like my dog found me! She has a precious personality. Maybe I'm being a little presumptuous calling her my own so soon, but considering the shape she's in, I'd hate to think of her going back to wherever she came from. I think this was fate!

Melanie looks like she is some kind of fox terrier/miniature pinscher/chihuahua mix. She is one year old.

Her resemblance to our chihuahua Kim is so funny! Mirror images! Kim has been a little jealous of her doppelganger since she got here, but not unwelcoming. She has been trying to play with Melanie, who is still a little on the shy side, but quickly coming out of her shell.

You'll be seeing lots more of Melanie! I just had to share this morning, I am so smitten! We'll have her fixed up and rid of her parasite friends and she'll be feeling much better very soon :) Well, I'm off to go buy dog panties…wait for pics, haha! Have a good weekend!

THRIFT STORE ESSENTIALS

THRIFT STORE ESSENTIALS

My mom did a story on shopping for fall essentials at the thrift store over on her blog–go over to Atlantis Home and check it out! We had fun shooting this. I am totally going to steal this Armani jacket from her from time to time!
The circle sunnies were a recent purchase….they are Tory Burch. Round sunnies are so good for people with round faces! The jeans are Rag & Bone & I wear them everyday!

BEAUTIFUL VIRGINIA

BEAUTIFUL VIRGINIA

This weekend I was in Charlottesville, Virginia and I really fell in love with it. It was an especially lucky time to be in Charlottesville with the changes of the seasons starting to happen…the beautiful autumn light and the falling yellow leaves against the quaint Jeffersonian buildings were absolutely picturesque. The above photo was taken in a field of flowers planted by the Boars Head Inn outside of Charlottesville.

In the Court Square in Charlottesville!

I came to Charlottesville for the Mockingbird Conference. I came to find Mockingbird through the Reverend John Zahl, who I first became acquainted with as a DJ through his fantastic cosmic disco mixes. DJ Jaz is absolutely a musical hero of mine and it was really special to meet the disco disciple himself in person. It's an odd story, but how I came to find Mockingbird speaks a lot to what Mockingbird aims to do itself, which is to connect the Gospel with contemporary culture in  down-to-earth and sometimes very suprising ways. Definitely a fascinating read, regardless of your spiritual standing. Can't wait till the next conference!

The spread of disco records pictured above were very generously gifted to me by DJ JAZ himself. It's such a special memory to me now, sitting in the trunk of a rented car on a rainy night with my boyfriend and our favorite DJ, going through these cosmic gems and talking disco. Wow! Thank you JAZ, I hope I can repay your generosity some day very soon!

LIGHT & SHADOWS

LIGHT & SHADOWS

These photos were taken in some very bizarre afternoon light we found in the park…the way the light shined through the bustles of the sheer skirt ended up being very dramatic. The skirt was a birthday gift my mom got me when I was sixteen, it's a Comme des Garcons skirt she found on eBay. What a gift, and it is too much fun to photograph!

I just got back from a wonderful trip to Virginia, editing photos right now–can't wait to share!!

MORE FROM MEXICO!

MORE FROM MEXICO!

I wanted to share some shots I didn't post from my trip to San Miguel de Allende in July. Such wonderful memories!!

What a week!! I am so sorry I haven't been updating over the past few days. I got sick, I had pink eye, and the things keep piling up! Yeah, my boyfriend gave me his case of pink eye. If I am not looking directly at the camera in my next few posts you know why. The truth is ugly and gross!! Sorry guys. Sunglasses are saving my life right now. I'm actually headed to Charlottesville, Virginia for a conference tomorrow, hope I get to share some shots!

GRAPHIC

GRAPHIC

The graphic check print on these H&M pants was so cool, I had to get them as soon as I saw them!! The leather sleeve tee is from Zara and the Balenciaga shoes are borrowed from my mom (they are my favorite shoes in history perhaps..) The sunglasses are a gift from Toms…the 'Sandela' sunglasses! The necklace is from Ippolita. Wearing pants is a nice change, I am a die-hard jeans girl. (as you can probably tell from my recent posts…jeez) Have to get out of your comfort zone sometimes! I am also trying something new with my hair, it feels nice to slick it back and not worry about it.
