BLUSTERY DAY

BLUSTERY DAY

What I wore on a rainy, windy day when I ran out to get lunch
and window shop with my mom. The tuna sandwich at the Mermaid Bar is my
favorite thing to eat in the world. My mom fell in love with this cape at Diesel, I loved it too!

Wearing Rag & Bone the Dre jeans, Prada bi-color brogues, Madewell belt, Tory Burch sunglasses, and Zara scarf.

RED ROCKSTUD LOVE

RED ROCKSTUD LOVE

When Valentino wrote me to tell me that my mom and I were going to be the lucky recipients of a special shoe gift, it was like Christmas and a birthday wrapped into one! Every day we waited for the Fedex truck, saying "This is the day! The Valentinos will be here!". This went on for almost two weeks and then we started to get a little concerned. The shoes were stuck in customs and after much ado, they finally arrived. Phew!

These beautiful shoes given to us by Valentino are part of a limited collection of 100 pairs. They are all sold out now unfortunately. I am beyond grateful to have a pair in my closet to call my own–thank you so much to the Valentino team!  (P.S. if you are a fan of these shoes, get a load of the rockstud flats….aren't they dreamy!)

Wearing a faux fur leopard jacket by DKNY, Rag & Bone for Intermix jeans, white tank, RRL d-ring belt, a patchwork leather Dolce & Gabanna bag, and a quartz lollipop necklace c/o Ippolita, and sunglasses by Tory Burch.

A VERY MERRY UNBIRTHDAY

A VERY MERRY UNBIRTHDAY

We decided to throw a little party at my mom's house to celebrate the addition of Melanie to the doggy family! We did it with a birthday cake because that's the only dog cake we could find, but are there really any rules about when doggy birthday cakes are appropriate?? Melanie didn't think so! Kim and Mel are wearing matching polka dotted Martha Stewart coats we got at Petsmart. Gotta love embarrassing your dogs!

I love Melanie so much, I am so lucky to have found her! She is feeling a little down today, because she got spayed yesterday. Poor baby. We're having a nice relaxing girls day in.

LUNCH AND A STROLL IN THE PARK

LUNCH AND A STROLL IN THE PARK

It's easy to throw a look together on the fly with a great leather jacket and boots like these! The quilted leather jacket was very generously gifted to me by Anine Bing. Thank you so much–it's a dream come true! Upon seeing her website, I had to order the studded boots for myself straight away. For obvious reasons…best boots in the world! And perfectly comfortable for scooting around in.
I'm also wearing Madewell skinny skinny jeans in Silversmith wash and a chiffon scarf from Club Monaco.

See that anime-eyed Maltese in the last picture? I met her on my walk–look at that face! I am so glad I had my camera. Her dad was very kind to oblige my photo request. I know I've been annoying everyone on Instagram with the onslaught of dog photos…but I am just so excited about my new baby! I took some adorable pictures of Melanie and Shelly and Kim yesterday, I can't wait to post them. Mel is doing great, and thank you to everyone for all the well wishes and welcomes!

LAID BACK BEAUTY

LAID BACK BEAUTY

My obsession is 'no makeup' make up! It's fresh and innocent, and best of all for lazy girls, it takes about four minutes, tops. I also think it also keeps your look low key and uncontrived. A little smoulder has it's place sometimes, but your natural undone self is perfect too! I've stopped wearing eye makeup and I cannot tell you how liberating it is! I'm talking about the mascara mess–don't you hate getting that off!

Of course, we all like a little help. I've rounded up a few essentials in my arsenal below.

Beauty

1. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream is just awesome, can't believe something so good is so cheap.

2. Dior Addict lip glow a balm that enhances your natural lip color

3. Cream blush in Prime Time from Topshop

4. Make Up Forever Diamond Powder in White Gold 2 (for dabbing on the inner corners of your eyes and your cupids bow)

5. Sachajuan Ocean Mist for adding texture to dry or damp hair…here's my trick: put a few loose curls in your hair with a clampless curling iron, brush them out, and scrunch this in! Very high fashion messy-on-purpose hair!

6. Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel for thicker, more defined brows

7. Kevin Murphy Motion Lotion brings out the curl in fine, straight hair like mine! It's my favorite hair product. Use it on dirty hair for movement and curl definition.

I found an update on no-makeup makeup that I love…I found this picture of the beautiful Fillipa Berg on Free People's blog. I love the gold highlighter under her eyes! Such a lovely alternative to piling on the liner to get your eyes to pop. I think the By Terry cream eyeshadow in Beyond Gold would get you this look perfectly.
