ROAD TRIP-off to Austin

I'm in the middle of packing for a short road trip to Austin…I'm going with my mom and my aunt Karen for two days of vintage shopping & really good Mexican food. I love Austin, I can't wait to go back. The shopping there is so great!

Before I go, some pictures of tasty junk food I consumed this week with two of my best friends.

Will someone take me to prom??

This morning my mom called me from an antique mall here in Dallas and said, "I got the most beautiful 50s prom dress!! You have to see it!" So an hour later it was here and I've barely taken it off since then…I love it so much!

Worn with patent Givenchy pumps from fall 2007.

*Yes, my hair is much, much darker. I did not mean to get this dark…my hair dresser said he was going to do the same thing as last time. My hair dresser is a liar.

Lazy Weekend

Is everyone else in North Texas sick of this gloomy weather yet? It's been wet and grey for two months now. It's starting to affect my mood…but at least this weather provides a good excuse to crawl into bed and watch movies.

This weekend I watched A Room With a View (because I love Helena Bonham Carter) and Paris, TX (because I looooove Harry Dean Stanton..even if this movie was kind of lame)

Went to Chili's with my best friends on Saturday…

Wearing an 80's sequinned angora sweater with jeans purchased from V.O.D., and Balenciaga ankle boots

Then on Sunday morning I went into town with my mom and sister to check out some furniture at Again Design Studio in Dallas. My mom is a big fan of both of Leslie Pritchard's stores.

I wore my favorite patent Alaia platforms and 80s Claude Montana pants.

Hope everyone had a great weekend…for now I have to pack and catch up on correspondence before I leave for NYC tomorrow. I'll be back Thursday!

Suspiria

Are you guys getting ready for Halloween yet? I am…or at least, my dad is. He put up his decorations this weekend. My dad lives for Halloween, which cracks me up because he can be a little tight-laced sometimes. Not when it comes to decking his house for Halloween!

There are three of these big spiders in the house…and even some dangling from the roof outside.

I went over today to keep Denise company…she told me the spiders were creeping her out.

Wearing Levi's jeans, thrifted polyester plaid shirt, unknown scarf, and Proenza Schouler booties.

Blech..I'd love to spend this gloomy day working on some projects and eating Halloween candy, but I think my sister has passed her swine flu on to me. Guess I'll be in bed watching scary movies. Being sick is so annoying when there is shit that needs to get done.

First scary movie on my list: Dario Argento's Suspiria (1977)
