Jeweled Boots and Golden Chairs

I am in love with these satin boots–they were given to me by Sarah from Bootleg (super cool shoe trailer in Austin) and she suggested loading them up with brooches. I finally rounded up enough brooches to do it. They're made by a brand called All Black and there is a similar version that you could stick brooches in on sale now. Super cute. I can't get enough of unusual, kind of old-fashioned shoes right now. These boots could definitely be best friends with my new Rochas.
Worn with a plaid tartan dress from Vintage Martini, dirndl corset and a 50's fox cardigan from Feathers Boutique, and a Rugby beret.

Perfect Patent Granny Boots

Fashion
Nov 30, 2011

The Rochas boots I've been dreaming about arrived today. I ordered them online as soon as they got marked down. I am head over heels (haha) in love with these boots. I love that there is absolutely nothing modern about their design. They are the quintessential Victorian granny boot…but they are still a little naughty. I am so inspired by them, I feel like they could send my style into a very different direction! Tonight I'm going to watch Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events, because I feel like these would fit right into that movie's wardrobe. There are still a few pairs left online!

They even have a tiny cute little heart hiding on their soles. How sweet :)

PEPPERMINT & PLAID

I've been feeling very much in the holiday spirit lately…and I have to admit I feel a little juvenile wearing such Christmassy outfits before its even December. This fair isle sweater is too cozy not to wear though! It is even better with the matching arm warmers. The perfect thing for the cold months to come.

Wearing Rugby fair isle funnelneck sweater with matching armwarmers, baroque lace tights c/o Hue, a 50's tartan petticoat, a 50's fox stole, and Alaia lace-up platform boots.

Fun Holiday Makeup Idea

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone that is celebrating! I'm about to get ready for a Thanksgiving lunch with my family. I wanted to do a quick post about a new makeup obsession of mine. I have noticed that recently a lot of makeup lines have come out with glittery liquid liners and decided to try a few for myself. They're super fun and kind of futuristic…my pictures don't show the impact of the glitter very well, but in dim settings it really lights up your face.

I used Too Faced Starry Eyed Liquid Liner in Mad Mad Love (a rainbow glitter liner) as well as Tarina Tarantino Eyelicity Glitter Liner in Glitter Mist (a white/pink glitter liner) in the inner corners…for the lids I did Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity Pure in Nude.

Also wearing…

Mascara: Benefit They're Real! Beyond Mascara
Eyebrows: Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel (the best thing in the world)
Cheeks: Stila Convertible Color in Gerbera and Benefit High Beam Luminizer

I love this tutorial, Catalina makes much better use of liquid sparkles than I have done here!

Hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving!

THE BEAR’S JEWELRY

Fashion
Nov 23, 2011

I can never seem to turn down whimsical things with a sense of humor…especially if there are animals involved. The weirder, the better. This 80's Krizia sweater featuring a grizzly bear wearing his finest pearls is right up my alley. My mom found this at an amazing sale at Salvation army a few months ago, and managed to snap up this Krizia wolf sweater too. The vintage gods must have been smiling down on her that day.
