TOMBOY PREP

Outfits
Jul 11, 2012

I love how a few masculine additions can ground an outfit. I'm pretty sure I've been wearing this Rugby bandana with every outfit I've had on for a week straight. I even wore it when I went swimming! Either I need to give the bandanas a rest or buy a few more…can't decide which yet, but I'm leaning towards the latter.

The pointelle skirt and linen striped blazer with a peplum are both from Rugby. The patent and leather tri-color brogues are Comme des Garcons. They are secretly my favorite pair of flat shoes.

SHOE DREAMS: WUNDERKIND FALL 2010

If I had to compile a list of the top five shoes I wish I owned, these mask shoes from the Wunderkind fall 2010 show would always be on there.

SKINNY SHOES

I'm feeling a little guilty for ignoring my other shoes. I've only been wearing two pairs of shoes for the last few months. One is a pair of punky 90's Alexander McQueen slingbacks I picked up in the middle of nowhere and the other is a pair of extremely skinny Roberto Cavalli sandals from the early 00's I stole from my mom. Kind of random choices, but their simplicity makes them so freaking easy!

Sexy skinny strappy sandals are what I'm all about right now…they look good with everything and after years and years of out-of-control platforms, they're a breath of fresh air! When I saw these Jean-Michel Cazabat shoes marked down at Barney's I knew they'd be a good buy. So far I've worn them every day since I got them.

Here is an equally fluorescent purse that Meredith Wendell gave me…went well with the shoes!

Here is my new phone case I designed using Zazzle…so cool!

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE

Lately I am having so much fun with dressing up. This unbearable Texas heat can really take the fun out of fashion, but with a little imagination, you can get away. I like this idea I am playing with of being your own Barbie doll, and superimposing yourself into any situation you could dream up. That is what fashion is about, isn't it?? Thanks Photoshop for bringing this reality closer!

My favorite photo apps for iPhone!

1. DECOPIC
With DECOPIC you can make your pictures look like they came from a cute Japanese photobooth ;) you can unlock filters too by sending them to your friends! They have so many funny stamps.

2. Infinicam
It's called Infinicam because there are literally an infinite number of filters you can come up with! Each filter is generated by a code…when you discover one you like you can save it and use it again. Very cool frames and light leaks in this app!

3. Photo wonder

This one is awesome because you can put clothes and jewelry on your pictures. Also, they have eye enlarging and slimming options…pretty mutated.

Horses

4. Horse Lover's Camera
Full credit for this beautiful app discovery goes to Laura…ever since she turned me on to it, I have been horse cam-ing everything near and dear to me. I'm unashamed to admit to paying 99 cents for extra pony features.

Of course, Instagram is the beset way to share your pictures! Follow me, I'm @seaofshoes on Instagram. I've been down in Austin this week, had so much fun. Here are some of my pics from my trip!

Austintest

Wait, before I go, I have to show you my favorite new phone thing….it's called Hatchi and it's like a Tamogatchi for your phone! I already had one evolve to it's full form! I took the train to Austin and had a *lot* of time to kill ;)

SEEING STARS

This 80's Fendi star top is a special favorite of mine. I am not a fan at all of the recent reincarnation of high-low hemlines we're seeing everywhere, but this works!! I found it in Austin a few years ago.

Worn with J. Crew pants and Chanel mesh lace-up silver booties and my very beloved vintage Adolfo beret.
