AUSTIN DIARIES

Fashion
Oct 11, 2011

As I mentioned in my last post, we were in Austin this weekend to check out the Vintage Glamporium show. We love any excuse to get up to Austin, and we knew with the line-up of vendors at the show, the shopping was going to be amazing. It did not dissapoint-it was a magical vintage candy land! I'm still dreaming of some of the things we left behind… Masha from Feathers boutique organized it, so of course it was incredible. I can't wait to share some of the crazy things we found.

On our drive down to Austin we hit up Style Station. Its a must-stop for road trips, I found the perfect 70's 505s and lots of cool tees and blouses.

Below are some pics from the Vintage Glamporium.

I love this display from Laced With Romance (amazing eBay store that now has a retail location in Austin!)

The Vintage Mobile came to town too for the show! Nice to see you again, Vintage Mobile.

Kim was a little tired after a long afternoon of vintage shopping. Sorry Kim! Have a margarita.

Of course we can't not go to Toy Joy when we are in Austin….we went under the premise of buying gifts for our very small neighbors, but ended up getting lots of plastic animals for ourselves.

Toy Joy also has a bubble tea bar in the back…I love the little kitties on their chalkboard.

We had the great pleasure of staying at the W Hotel in Austin. It made the trip so wonderful–I think we ate at their restaurant Trace every meal! They had the best crab cake ever.

The cozy library at the W.

I have to share this–when we arrived at our room at the W, there was a greeting card personally adressed to Kim. Inside was a warm welcome and a picture of a chihuahua that looked just like Kim. We are going to save this forever and ever. So cute!!

I wish I had some more pictures of what we brought back from the vintage show. I do have to show this 50s fur cardigan and teal dirndl corset that I got from Feathers. I have worn them together for two days straight…

I have to post about the coolest shoe store I've ever been to–definitely one of the highlights Austin had to offer. Check back tomorrow!
