I'm leaving tomorrow for the mountains in Mexico! I can't wait to get there and haul my camera around town. That and margaritas. I had a lot of fun packing. Here are some snaps from my wardrobe lately and a few outfits I put together

This was shot a few weeks back when I had gone out to my mom's house for the weekend to see my family and get some work done. I had packed absolutely nothing, as usual. My mom has an insane closet that she lets me play in from time to time…every single item here I borrowed from her. Thanks mom! We were just having fun styling crazy outfits when I put this together. This Dolce and Gabbana jacket was a great outlet find of hers. The Golden Goose jeans are to die for, makes me want a pair of my own.

The Last Word Cocktail

TGIF, y'all! You may have gathered this already, but I like my cocktails. My greatest joy in life is having my friends over, playing good music, and sampling new cocktail recipes with them. My current favorite is a cocktail called "The Last Word". It has been a big hit with everyone I've served it to. It is simultaneously light and refreshing while being extremely complex and and bit pungent. If you serve one cocktail in your home, make it this one! Easy and delicious.

  • ¾ oz Gin (I used Tanqueray)
  • ¾ oz Green Chartreuse (I used yellow Chartreuse here because I was out of green Chartreuse, the drink did not suffer for it!)
  • ¾ oz Maraschino (Luxardo)
  • ¾ oz fresh lime juice

Yesterday went by at a million miles a minute. I'm tackling a couple of projects at the moment, and in the mix of all of this I have been doing a lot of entertaining. Yesterday I made it a priority to hit the thrift store to hunt down some pretty stemware. If you are going to make a good cocktail, it deserves a worthy glass. I totally scored at Salvation Army and another local favorite thrift store called Genesis. I also found beautiful gold trays. Now I'm set to party! I will definitely be sharing some of my favorite cocktails on the blog soon. Stay tuned!

Topshop and ASOS do great black pencil skirts. I like a viscose blend the best. It is never a bad idea to have a few black pencil skirt options on hand. They save my life when I need to get out of the door quickly but want to look put together.

WANTED: the perfect gold boot

My heart skipped a beat when I saw these on the Outnet. I have been looking for the perfect pair of gold ankle boots for two years now. It started when my mom got the gold Marc by Marc Jacobs boots I am wearing below. She lets me borrow them if I’m lucky, and I have been searching for my own pair on eBay! These would be a very worthy replacement. How cute would they be with sloppy boyfriend jeans? These are the hard choices in life, but I think I know what I must do. Haha.
