I’m wearing a men’s Comme Des Garcons blazer with a woven 80s belt, Yohji Yamamoto boots, Y-3 pants, and Nina Ricci leather elbow gloves.
I like to play with stark androgynous looks and these Comme and Yohji pieces have always been very special to me. The apocalyptic backdrop of this shoot reminds me of another planet. It felt completely removed from his world too. This ditch had been washed out by a huge flood just before we shot!
Exploring the deserts of West Texas, we came across the towns of Shafter and Presidio. Shafter is a true ghost town, and felt like a place you might actually encounter a ghost. Shafter and the cacti-studded plains of Presidio made a very fun backdrop for this vintage sweater coat I’ve been wanting to shoot. It’s such a fun piece! I love how it’s abstract print mimics the flowing shapes of the cacti. We were pelted with rain while shooting this coat, which sounds miserable, but was actually insanely fun. How often will I get to run through the desert in the rain? This coat has some very special memories attached to it now!
Wearing a vintage sweater coat with a vintage belt, red scarf, Madewell jeans, and Isabel Marant leopard pumps. Lipstick is NARS Audacious lipstick in Charlotte.
Stopping to stretch our legs on the never-ending drive to Cibolo Creek Ranch, just shy of the Mexican border. It’s so cool seeing the pumpjacks, sand dunes, and mountain lion prints along the way. Yikes!
Wearing vintage boyfriend jeans, vintage fox fur, vintage gold belt, a Rugby duffle bag, aviator sunnies, and Prada mules. The red lip is Two Face Melted Longwear Lipstick in Melted Ruby, such a good lippy.
I’m not sure you could ever have too many camel coats or turtlenecks. It’s a rainy day out here on the West Texas plains, I’m suiting up accordingly! Click on the items for details.
Hello from Big Spring, Texas! We’re on the way to a sprawling ranch way out west past Marfa. Its a long drive so we chose Big Spring as a mid-way stopping point. We are very fond of the Hotel Settles here, ghosts and all. We stayed here during our shoot for Chanel earlier this spring. This town is one of my favorite road trips, and I’m happy to report we were left alone by the ghosts last night. We’ve got our car loaded with trunks full of vintage, we can’t wait to shoot and share it with you!!
Wearing a Paul Smith oversized white shirt (similar here), vintage boyfriend jeans, vintage jewelry, and Dolce and Gabbana heels form about 10 years ago.
This shade of pumpkin is my biggest fixation for fall, it’s so lush and autumnal! I love it paired with grey. Wearing it with my Lotuff leather tote and a Zara skirt from last year (there is a gorgeous version of it by Theory that I’ve had my eye on, this skirt has been a workhorse for me over the past year) with a vintage sweater & scarf. The shoes are Chloe from fall 2008. I collect the shoes from that season and these particular grey booties are some of my favorite shoes I own. Below I found some from the same collection, good news if you are a lucky size 40!
This marigold calfhair yellow clutch is by Allison Mitchell, who I had the pleasure of meeting up with on Monday here in Dallas. She must be a little bit psychic because I had fallen in love with this bag she designed when I was DJing at Elements boutique last week. I am so honored to own one of her bags, thank you Allison! Allison Mitchell’s bags are available exclusively at Elements right now.
Worn with my grey mink, a cashmere grey wrap, Zara jeans, and Miu Miu leopard mules, gold bangles from Salvation Army..
