GOOD JEANS

GOOD JEANS

Above wearing AG Jeans Beau boyfriend jeans in 20 Years Yonder with Topshop trench coat, striped tee, Madewell hat, and Balenciaga heels.

Denim is the foundation of my wardrobe and I may be slightly addicted to collecting jeans. I recently had to set up two shelves in my office to home all of my jeans! AG has always had some of the best denim fits I’ve ever tried (I own the Stilt in three colors!) When they asked me to style some of their new spring denim for Who What Wear, I jumped at the chance to try their newest styles. No surprise, I fell in love with them! Going to be wearing these lots this spring.

THAT 70s SWEATER COAT

THAT 70s SWEATER COAT

IMG_0172  Sweater-Coat sweater IMG_0264

This 70s duster sweater is so insane,  The dramatic sleeves and the muted plum color pallette is so “now” to me. A great statement coat like this takes the work out of putting an outfit together. Best to let a major piece like this shine on it’s own. Must resist the temptation to wear this over everything, forever….

Sweater coat: Vintage
Tank top: Monroe
Jeans: AG Farrah Skinnies
Boots: Chloe from several years ago, try similar pair from Topshop here
Choker necklace: vintage
Eelskin clutch: Vintage Carlos Falchi

THIERRY COLSON

THIERRY COLSON

ThierryColson

I’m newly obsessed with cult brand Thierry Colson after trying on this stunning dress from VOD Boutique. They have an amazing selection of his spring line, including lots of hippie blouses in a spectrum of candy colors with whimsical embroidery. This crisp ivory wrap dress was just my cup of tea! A very Grace Kelly feel to this dress.

Lace up sandals are Ann Demuelemeester.

I love this shaggy 70s goat hair coat so much! A great coat like this can give your wardrobe a new lease on life. I’ve been wearing it with everything. Easy peasy with highwaisted skinnies, nude pumps, and a disco blouse!

Wearing a vintage goat hair coat with Citizens of Humanity skinny jeans, Paul Andrew nude pumps, with vintage blouse and necklace.

Concha Belts & Taupe

Concha Belts & Taupe

Taupe has been the color on my mind lately. It feels a little more luxurious than camel at the moment and has an 80’s vibe that I love. I was really inspired by the styling of taupe at the Ralph Lauren 2015 Fall show,  and since then I’ve been dreaming of adding a few key taupey pieces to my wardrobe! I happened upon this amazing 80’s military inspired jacket when I was at Salvation Army last week. The jacket was $10 dollars but it was half price day so I got it for $5! What a steal, not to mention it has a Neiman Marcus label on the inside. I’ve been belting everything lately with my Ralph Lauren concha belt! It’s the Texan in me.

Wearing A Gold E skinny jeans with Chloe heels ,a vintage Carlos Falchi eelskin clutch, and Polo Ralph Lauren concha belt.

J.W. Anderson homage to 80’s Krizia

Whoa! Looks like someone has been raiding the Krizia archive. J.W. Anderson’s fall 2015 collection was hugely reminiscent of all of the best of 80’s Krizia. I am glad to see this look revived, I love Krizia I’m inspired to get out my vintage Krizia right now!

Teddy Ruxpin at the Soho Grand

Teddy Ruxpin at the Soho Grand

IMG_9276 IMG_9396Wearing vintage sweater with DL1961 jeans (on sale now), vintage hat (similar here),  Lotuff Tripp bag and leather elbow gloves.

When I found this vintage teddy bear sweater, I knew it was coming home with me. Maybe it’s the sweater’s plushie-ish qualities, but I kind of just wanted to adopt it, name it, and maybe take it for a walk. I named this sweater Teddy Ruxpin, in honor of the amazing Lie Witness News Segment from Jimmy Kimmel (how are those humans for real??). I got this sweater from Vintage Martini, and it is a homemade sweater made by a presumable visionary. If I could ever track her down I’d love to know what else she DIYed.

You might of heard, but New York was extremely cold. It was painful to walk outside most of fashion week. I was happy whenever I got to take shelter in my cozy room at the Soho Grand. My favorite home-away-from home, with the best lobby of any hotel!
